RALPH SHIMERMiss JoAnn Plummer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne C. Plummer, 1001 South Barstow Street, and Aviation Cadet Ralph B. Shimer, son of Mrs. C. R. Shimer, Kinston, NC, were married in the post chapel in Santa Ana, CA on Saturday, May 20, at 1 o'clock. The Reverend Gonser performed the ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by Aviation Cadet Vernon Slater, Berkley, CA, wore a two-piece dress of rose linen with white hat and accessories. She wore a gardenia corsage. Maid of honor, Miss Katherine Hillestad, Eau Claire, wore a two-piece dress of yellow linen with a white hat and accessories. She had a white corsage. The groom was attended by Aviation Cadet Charles W. Smith, Overhills, NC. Following the ceremony, Aviation Cadet and Mrs. Shimer received their friends at the post chapel and left for Laguna Beach, CA. At present, they are living at the Victorville Army Air Field, Victorville, CA, where the groom is taking the advanced course in bombardiering and navigation. The bride is a graduate of Eau Claire Senior High School. She attended Eau Claire State Teachers College and the University of Wisconsin where she was affiliated with Alpha Xi Delta. The groom attended the North Carolina State College, Raleigh, NC before entering the Air Corps. |
