| Members of the Junior Chamber of Commerce are shown above,
sorting some of the vast piles of clothing, donated by people of Eau
Claire in the United National Clothing Drive. In the picture are (from
left to right) Bus Kent, Bill Pynn, LeRoy Isaacson, Lu Cisne, Larry
Grier, Al Crowe, Phil Gullickson, co- chairman; Bruce Watson, Jerry
Tomchek, co-chairman; and Barney Kvasnik, owner of the City Scrap and
Paper Company Warehouse where collected paper is stored. A definite check on the amount of clothing collected has not been possible as yet, C. E. Guthrie, chairman of the campaign, said, as some is still being brought in from centers in the county and city. The City Scrap Warehouse has been filled, and there is a big overflow at the Walsh Motor Company garage. No further pick-ups are anticipated here, but persons who have clothing to be donated may leave them at the Walsh Company (Ford) garage. |

New WAAC Recruiting Office Opens |

The new WAAC Recruiting Headquarters, sponsored by the
Junior Chamber of Commerce, located at 314 Barstow Street, opened
Monday. On hand at the formal opening were L. Roberta Dent, left, and
Auxiliary First Class Henrietta Bush, who are in charge at the
headquarters.
Jaycess present were Bea Thompson, Grover Ramsey, Harlan Niebuhr, Dallas Perry, Herbert G. Eliasohn, George Betz, Laverne Kent, Al Crowe, Sig Cheleen, Leonard Anderson, and Edward Blang. Other members of the committee, not pictured, are Louis J. Kelly, Co-Chairman; Earl M. Craig, Charles Dahl, George Holgate, Clarence Imislund, Carl Lundquist, Clarence Prince, Jerry Tomchek, John D. Kaiser, and T. W. Smeed. |
