Triumphant American soldiers, thousands strong, march in victory along the Champs Elysees past the Arc de Triomphe in Paris during the liberation celebration in the French capital August 26. This picture, for which Americans have waited three years, was taken by Peter J. Carroll, Associated Press Photographer with the war picture pool. The companion picture to this, even more anxiously awaited, will show these troops marching in victory past the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. AP WIREPHOTO.
