LT. WM. DAVID THOMPSON First Lieutenant William David Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Thompson, formerly of this city, now of Baltimore, MD, has been missing in action since June 13. He was flying as a Squadron Commander over Yugoslavia from a base in Italy. He received his training at the Army Air Forces Navigation School, San Marcos, TX. Lieutenant Thompson is a grandson of Mrs. E. S. Culver and a nephew of Mrs. Virginia Howie and Mrs. Helen Cameron, all of Eau Claire. |

LT. WILLIAM D. THOMPSON Lieutenant William David Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Thompson, formerly of this city, now of Rome, NY, has sent word to his parents from Le Havre, France, that he will arrive at Camp Beale, CA in about two weeks and will be home soon after that. Lieutenant Thompson, a Squadron Commander, was reported missing after a raid over Yugoslavia from a base in Italy and, later, was reported a prisoner of the Germans. At last report, he had been transferred to the Moosberg prison, just before it was liberated by the Americans. Lieutenant Thompson is a grandson of Mrs. E. S. Culver of this city. |
| IN STALAG 7 A former Eau Claire boy, Lieutenant William D. Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold J. Thompson, now of Rome, NY, but formerly residents of this city, is among the 110,000 prisoners freed Sunday from the prison camp near Moosburg, Germany. The parents had recently been advised by the War Department that he had been moved to Stalag 7 prison camp. He is a grandson of Mrs. E. S. Culver of this city. |
